As a military veteran, transitioning to civilian life can be a daunting prospect. The structured environment of the military may have been your norm for years, making the transition into the unknown of civilian careers seem overwhelming. However, with the right mindset, guidance, and resources, you can navigate this transition successfully.

Earlier this year, Careers Ideas supported two work placement students as part of their work experience week, Lottie came to us in May, Stivan in July.

On Thursday 6 June, it was the date of the 80th anniversary of D-Day. The Ministry of Defence and the Royal British Legion hosted the UK's national commemorative event at the British Normandy Memorial in Ver-sur-Mer, France.

This week is all about supporting a Year 12 student as pPart of work experience week! We are lucky to have with us 'Lottie' who is exploring a PR and Digital Marketing Career in Formula 1. Rather handily, I know one of the principal design engineers at Alpine Racing.

Six months ago, Careers Ideas engaged a team of 4 Lancaster University business students to conduct research on our behalf into the barriers employers face when hiring and the barriers Neurodiverse students face when applying for roles.

Careers Ideas have joined Lancaster District Training Providers Network to enable us to work in partnership with other organisations across the Lancaster region.

We are delighted to announce that Careers Ideas Ltd have formally received the Bronze award from the Defence Recognition Scheme (ERS) and are the 100th employer in Lancashire to receive this coveted award! 🥉

National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) takes place between 5 to 11 February 2024 and is an opportunity for the education and skills sector to celebrate the achievements of apprentices around the country and the positive impact they make to communities, businesses, and the wider economy.😁

For some time, I've been pondering on setting up a podcast, to support service personnel transition successfully to civvy street. As Bronze holders of the Employer Recognition Scheme, I wanted Careers Ideas Ltd to do something more than what we do already to support transitioning service members and their families. After watching the final film in the Mission Impossible film series, the idea was born:-
