At Careers Ideas we believe that bridging the gap between education and employment isn't just a goal, it’s a necessity. I recently delivered a workshop to Kings Trust students at Morecambe Fire Station, it wasn't just about building CVs or practising interview techniques; it was about empowering the next generation with the knowledge, confidence and "people skills" that modern businesses need.

So why does young workforce development matter? The job market is changing fast. Developing core skills early helps young people pivot and grow. There is also the economic Impact; a skilled young workforce drives local innovation and fills critical talent gaps. Our workshops are aimed at changing the narrative "I can’t" into "I’m ready."

Seeing these students engage, ask searching questions, and realise their own potential, is exactly why we do what we do. Huge thanks to the team at Morecambe Fire Station for hosting me, I'm looking forward to celebrating the students achievements in early April.
